The rebel Expansionists have by now left the solar system entirely, heading for other stellar systems where it might just be possible to make a new home. Earth and the planets and moons orbiting Sol are now entirely under the control of the faction previously known as the Consolidationists.
So now there is nothing standing in the way of using the vast resources of the Asteroid Belt to repair centuries of ravages to old Earth, finally making an Earthy paradise.
This story is set in the same universe as The Last Asteroid, and therefore a sequel to Hero of the Rebellion (2nd Class), The Voyage of the Ice Clipper and Time Out of Place.
I am now working on two new tales in the same sequence entitled Garden at the End of the Universe and Gods and Daemons.
I'm rather taken with this series. It's already taken on something of a life of its own, it seems, and I suspect there are yet more stories to come.
